Pelvic floor support anatomy is critical to master as a pelvic health clinician.

This guided, independent learning package of educational materials is designed to expand your knowledge to better evaluate pelvic floor dysfunction and vaginal fascial structures. Utilize the study module in two ways:

 

  1. As a stand-alone self-study for your professional development or independent CEU requirements. Credits vary from state to state and are the responsibility of the clinician to report. Pelvic Resources does not approve or provide CEUs or a certificate of completion for the 6 hours of content provided.
  2. As a prerequisite for the CEU course Pelvic Floor Support Systems in Postpartum Recovery, Pelvic Pain and Prolapse. Cost of the Study Module is included in the course registration fee. Credits for CEU vary from state to state.

Included in the Pelvic Floor Support Anatomy and Literature Review Study Module:

The Study Module is crafted for practitioners to be able to complete the following objectives:

  1. List two key patient history/intake questions and two outcome questionnaires that will identify risk factors and symptoms of pelvic organ support.
  2. Identify four pelvic floor muscle diagnoses associated with pelvic floor dysfunction. (PFD).
  3. Name five key visceral pelvic fascia regions and key pelvic anatomy support structures.
  4. List the three methods of levator ani avulsion examination.
  5. Define the seven vaginal and two external points of the POP-Q examination.
  6. Describe two common POP-Q measurements and digital examination findings in patients with levator ani avulsion and POP, including those that would negatively impact the likelihood of successful pessary fitting.
  7. Review current evidence-based literature summaries on IAP, Breathing and PFD.
